‘Bocouture’ – botulinum toxin treatment (wrinkle reduction treatment)

Areas that can be treated are frown lines, forehead lines and around the eyes.

£190 – 1 area

£250 – 2 areas

£300 – 3 areas

An initial consultation is required to determine concerns and establish suitability for treatment. The fee for this is £50 and will be deducted from the cost of the treatment should you wish to proceed.

The fees include a two week review appointment that is recommended by our practitioner, to assess response to treatment and to make any corrections if necessary. Photographic monitoring is an important part of the assessment and you will be asked to consent to this.

Bocouture is a brand name of botulinum toxin type A. It works by helping the muscles under the skin relax, and this reduces the creasing of the skin which results in wrinkles. The art of good botulinum treatment is to make you look refreshed, to smooth the skin and to retain a natural look with some degree of movement. However if you wish to have a more ‘frozen’ look than this can be achieved easily with slightly different concentrations of ‘units’ given. During the consultation we will ask you what your aims and goals are so we can meet your expectations of treatment.

Botulinum toxin treatment is a very effective way of slowing down the ageing appearance of lines caused by facial expressions. However, as we age, and due to changes in the bone, muscle, fat and skin of the face, dermal filler treatments may be used in combination, or instead of, toxin treatment.

Dermal Fillers

At Penryn Dental Practice we use ‘Belotero’ hyaluronic acid dermal fillers. These products are very natural and integrate well with the layers of the dermis. They are classed as temporary fillers as they last from between 6 – 18 months, depending on where they are placed. Areas such as the lips have the shortest duration due to the muscle activity of the lips and the low viscosity of the product. In areas of the cheeks, we use a higher viscosity of product and this can last much longer.

The benefits of using hyaluronic acid as dermal fillers are their excellent safety profile, biocompatibility and ability to be dissolved if necessary in the case of an emergency or if you are not happy with the appearance of the treatment.

Dermal fillers act to replace lost volume in the face and can list the soft tissues or restore natural features that thin with age. Cheek augmentation is a very effective way of lifting the mid-face, which can sag and become flatter and heavier with age. By lifting the cheek area, this can reduce the heaviness of the lines that form between the nose and lips or lips and chin.

Lip augmentation is a very popular treatment especially with the younger crowd. However, it is a very effective treatment for older people as the lips generally become thinner with age, causing verticle lines to appear around the mouth. Dermal fillers can be placed to subtly increase volume to retain a very natural look.

Dermal fillers are produced in 1ml quantities. As a general guide prices start from £300 for a 1ml vial of filler, and subsequent vials are at a reduced rate. Your practitioner will discuss the amounts required for your individual treatment at your initial consultation.
