In addition to dental treatment and prevention of damage and decay, we will also monitor your child as they get older, to consider if they will require any orthodontic treatment to straighten their teeth.

It could be that the adult teeth when they come through are crowded or misaligned in the mouth. This could lead to your child lacking confidence in their appearance, or having difficulty cleaning their teeth properly. Advances in dentistry mean that orthodontic treatments are now much more effective and discreet than many adults remember from their youth, so young people today can easily enjoy a straighter smile they’re proud to show off.

Although we don’t carry out orthodontic treatment here at our Penryn practice, we are able to refer onwards to a specialist colleague, who has the same friendly approach as our team. They will take the time to fully assess your child and understand their hopes and wishes, as well as fully explain the options to both of you so you can make an informed decision about the best way forward.
