Failure to Attend Appointments

Last Updated on August 20, 2024

Failing to attend (FTA) appointments prevents us from being able to offer appointments to those who may require urgent emergency treatment. It is also results in additional costs to the practice.

Our policy at Penryn Dental Practice in relation to this is as follows.

There will be no charge for your first FTA. We will issue communication to you to advise that you have missed your appointment.

Subsequent FTA appointments will result in a charge being imposed on your account. This will be charged at 50% of the planned appointment fee.

Repeated FTA’s may result in deregistration from the practice.

Please note that charges in relation to failure to attend appointment are not covered by any NHS exemptions and we have the right to charge to you on a private basis at the discretion of the practice. No further appointments will be made until the charge is cleared.

Late Arrival

Please note that any patient more than 10 minutes late for an appointment may be required to be rescheduled at the discretion of the dentist or hygienist.

If for any reason we are running behind for your appointment, we will endeavour to keep you updated as best we can.
