Kay Gillam

Kay has been in the dental industry since 1981 when she joined the Royal Dental Hospital, Leicester Square in London and completed her dental nurse training. She remained there as a staff member gaining a wealth of experience in all aspects of dentistry and a further diploma in Dental Health Education.

She graduated at the Royal London Hospital in 1984 where the first course offering the dual qualification for Dental Hygienists and Dental Therapists began. She was amongst the first fifteen in the UK to qualify. We were told we were pioneers!

She has gained decades of valuable experience. Initially, with the Community Dental Service and thereafter both NHS and Private practices. Along the way she has been a dental nurse tutor and examiner for the National Examining Board for Dental Nurses and achieved her Further Adult
Education Teaching Certificate.

Kay is passionate about motivating and empowering patients with the knowledge to achieve their best level of dental health. She has a holistic approach to her work especially with the ever growing evidence of oral health status and other health conditions. She has a kind and gentle approach in the treatment of nervous patients.

In her spare time, Kay loves being amongst her family and friends. She enjoys fitness classes, open water swimming, body boarding and exploring Cornwall. She also loves all things crafty. You can find her in her garden shed creating stained glass sun catchers on commission or to build up stock which some lucky (or not so lucky) people may receive as a gift!
